A continuation of last week's post......
2008 was a crazy year. While there was too much unfortunate news regarding race and racism to discuss, there were a number of positives, such as the presidential campaign and election of the first African-American President, the first African-American First Lady, and the news-worthy black, Latino, Asian and South Asian political pundits, scholars, visionaries and yes, celebrities who finally got their names in the spotlight when in other years, they were ignored.
Ahh, the Christmas staff party.
In 2003, Author Damali Ayo created Rent-a-Negro.com, a satirical website that offered a service to people who wanted to rent a black 'friend' for social gatherings, etc.
One of the topics I was thinking of discussing was microagression, which was inspired by a post by Latoya Richardson today over on one of my favourite sites, Racialicious. Laytoya referred to another excellent post a couple of weeks back by Paula who wrote about an incident she had when she was shopping with her husband.
