by metalia at 10:35pm Mon, 17 Nov 2008, 472 views
No, for reals! It can be done, and I have video to prove it. I've carefully pared down my morning routine to a 10-step beauty plan (the tenth step is "jazz hands," by the way).

White Out

by inthefastlane at 9:44am Wed, 19 Nov 2008 under Mommy & Family, kids, winter, snow; 8 views
White Out Yesterday started off with a run in a snow storm. The snow and the amount of snow was unexpected for this time of the year. It was a wet snow that stuck to you as you moved through it, perfect for snowballs and snow men or looking like the abdominal snowman as you finished trying to run just four miles through 9 inches of snow. It was kind of fun, in a warped way, to try to find my footing in the tire tracks that made their way through our subdivision.

Non-Traditional Thanksgiving

I'm in a mood this year.  I don't know why, but merely the thought of preparing a holiday meal, or decorating, or putting up the tree makes me break out in hives.  And the thought of gift shopping?  Yeah, I'm not feeling it this year.  It's not that I'm depressed or anything, cause I'm most definitely not - as a matter of fact, I'm feeling pretty good.  I think I just need a break this year.  You see, no one in my house actually likes turkey.  We love all the sides, and we make a ton of them, but we find the smallest turkey in existence every year and

University life rules

by Girlforever at 9:25am Wed, 19 Nov 2008 under Body Image; 11 views
I went through a lot as a child. I was abused by my mentally ill mother. I moved to a foreign country. I was separated from my father. I've had bulimia. I was bullied. But now I am an adult, aren't I? It's an excuse for a child to be messed up because of her surroundings, but now I have turned 18, and my life is more messed up then ever.I'm 3months into university but only when to classes about 3 times. I still have bulimia. I have no friends. I pretty much failed most subjects already.

Grandma's guy

My 7 yo grandson Jacob is my guy.  He is straight forward with his thoughts speaks his mind and makes me laugh.  It doesn't always serve him well when he is in one of those 'moods'.

Facing my fears. I did not want to die addicted to drugs

I need help getting the word out that recovery does work for anyone who truely wants it. The addiction rate is at it's record high. So many people are dying and it is so sad, because they CAN recover. For the last three and a half years now I have had absolutly no desire to use drugs after 31 years of active drug addiction. I want everyone to know that no matter how hard life gets, how hopelss it seems, there is always a better life waiting for you.

Save Money and Reduce Stress at Thanksgiving Without Cutting Corners

by paulag01 at 8:51am Wed, 19 Nov 2008 under Money & Personal Finance; 26 views
We're one week away from the busiest travel day of the year and the official start of what many consider to be "The Holiday Season" (Thanksgiving through New Years encompassing all the different holiday traditions in between). The holidays are synonymous with stress and spending. In this year's more uncertain economy some people are feeling the pinch more than ever. Even if you're experiencing relatively smooth sailing in your own circumstance, the global reality check we are experiencing is a fine time for everyone to adopt a more conscious mindset when it comes to our choices.

10 Things I Freaking Love About Sarah Palin

by traceesioux at 8:47am Wed, 19 Nov 2008 under Politics & News, politics, Sarah Palin, 2016; 114 views
Orginally published on Blog Fabulous. 1. She reminds me of my mother. 2. She kind of reminds me of my mother-in-law. 3. She reminds me of myself, actually. 4. She’s ballsy. She stood up to all the mean girls who trashed her and the perverts who made pornography of her and the media who mocked her. She did it with grace, complete sentences (unlike our current resident moron) and with HUMOR and a big wide smile on her face and 4 kids in tow.

is attitude everything?

Is attitude everything? If  it’s not everything, certainly studies prove it’s more than nothing.  The old messages of yore, ‘Turn your frown upside down,’ orthe classic Disney anthem, ‘It’s a great big beautiful tomorrow…’ might just bemore powerful than we realize.

Wall Street Virus Attacks!

by Elvira at 8:18am Wed, 19 Nov 2008 under Health & Wellness, self-esteem, financial crisis; 12 views
Finances can be like weight for the tender self-esteem.  When my weight is up beyond a point of critical mass my ego deflates like a day old party balloon.  It's not right, and I try to work on it, but it's true.  When finances feel out of control the scent of panic is in the air.  And isn't it just lovely to have every newspaper and cable news talking head scream doomsday so that even if I have every logical reason to

Fun Ways to Teach Kids About Money

by livinglocurto at 8:01am Wed, 19 Nov 2008 under parenting, family, money, chores, Dave Ramsey, teaching kids, Money & Personal Finance; 11 views
My 5 year old son's birthday is right after Christmas... so needless to say, he gets a lot of cash and coins from relatives. He had it stashed in various places all over his room, because of course he'd rather play with toys than the ol' dollar bills. I wanted to teach him about the importance of a dollar so I started the Dave Ramsey Financial Peace Jr.  I'm very passionate about my kids learning good money habits... because that is one of my main weaknesses! Luckily for us, my husband is Dave Ramsey's twin! ha.
